is there any way to bypass windows installer?

Hi... I am new here.

My OS is XP. I have been using Open Office for nearly a year. Yesterday I downloaded its latest vesrion. But when I try to instal it, I keep getting the message that the installer file is either missing or corrupted. I am sure it is about the windows installer.

Since I am keen to switch over from MicroSoft, I do not wish to invest my money or time in MS prodts anymore. Is there anyway I can instal the OOO latest version without the XP installer?

Could any expert here help me please?

No, you can't bypass the installer.
I think your download of the OOo install package is corrupt.

Try to download it again, and make sure to use the official site.

Without knowing the exact error message, we're just guessing.

Some possibilities:
NSIS Error
Missing openofficeorg22.msi

I am sorry to have missed mentioning this. It is NSIS error. I will revert after trying your advice. Thanks a lot

Have you checked the MD5SUM of the file you downloaded? That would give a good idea if the file is corrupted. I would suggest that is the first thing to try.

There are portable versions of OO out there for download that don't require an install at all.
