Okay, this is really not a problem but it is just something that makes you think
is it just me , or no one uses this feature or just didn't notice it?
When I use the OpenOffice.org Base and use the 'Wizard' to create a report,
it creates a new OpenOffice.org Writer doc and pops-up the 'Wizard' to help
create the content , starting with a TITLE , AUTHOR and DATE.
Well, the TITLE=Default , the Author pulls my name from some place,
but the date is 4/26/02 and today is 1/29/2008 ?
I know, I can just edit the date in the doc and be done with it, but is it just me
or some configuration problem or some incomplete 'Wizard' coding?

Okay, it isn't just me. I did a Google "OpenOffice+4/26/02" and got one hit here:
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=55231
and another in a OpenOffice 'Mail Reader' ? that gave instructions on how
to change from a 'fixed date' to a current date but the instructions where
for OpenOffice 2.2 and I couldn't successfully find the items it described.
Why would someone code a 'fixed date' into an application as the DEFAULT
and provide a method to switch to the current date or another option? |

Here's the workaround.
In step 5 of the Report Wizard in the section 'Layout of headers and footers' ,
even if the default selection is highlighted, select the default or any other
format, and the format is applied and the date is formatted. |
