You cannot insert anything into a PDF by using OOo's UNO API.

If you have a PDF and want to edit that through an API, try iText: http://www.lowagie.com/iText/.

Yes, why not? You can create an OOo Writer document, insert text, insert images and then save it (with "storeTo(...)") as a PDF.

Try the following Java examples. They show how to convert a text document into a PDF and how to set the PDF filter data:
