Hi all

I have some data in a calc file. I want to get it into impress, so I can make a chart. How do I do it? I copied from calc and then went to impress and tried to paste and nothing happened.

What's the way?

Gene

to get calc data on an impress slide use the blank layout, copy the calc file, click into the empty impress file and select edit>paste special>calc8. This way you insert a frame with the calc object. Double click on the frame and you can edit frame size and contents in calc mode. When clicking outside the frame calc mode finishes and you see the frame content only.
However, you don't want to create the chart in this mode. Create the chart in a calc file first and copy the chart into the presentation.
To do that select the chart in calc, copy it and transfer it to the impress slide via file>paste special>gdi metafile (or star object descriptor) both options work but in gdi format you can't edit the chart in impress.
