Cutting colored cells

Cenario:

1) Apply background color to a cell
2) Cut the cell

Problem:

The cell will become white.

Is there a way to keep background color in cells? It's a bit annoying not being able to use the cut function on these situations!

When you move cells you move everything including formats. This is the method I prefer: Copy into the clipboad (Ctrl+C), clear contents (Backspace) and paste elsewhere (Ctrl+V).
