I have had Open Office for some time. I saw a prompt for an update of same. So, I began the update of Open Office. When it was finished, I went back into Open Office and I was informed that the file did not exist. Does anyone have any idea what I was doing wrong?
I, then, tried to install it from the beginning, and afterwards tried to go into it again, and got the same response -- that the program didn't exist.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the update erased my programs for Office Org? If I had known that it was going to do that I wouldn't have updated.
Thanks. |

How? What did you do exactly? Which operating system are you using? |

Chances are, the update installed in a different folder, so your old shortcuts don't work. I see that happen a lot. You just need to create new shortcuts. _________________ Laugh at life or life will laugh at you. |

I think Corfy is right, the program was installed in a different folder, try to find this folder and then create shortcuts. _________________ John, my web site is here |

If you had made shortcuts on your desktop, there are deprecated, you have to recreate them again from the new ones in the Start menu. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

It isn't just shortcuts on the desktop. WinXP also keeps a list of your most used programs in the Start menu. Those shortcuts can be depreciated as well. _________________ Laugh at life or life will laugh at you. |

Never seen that. The Start menu shortcuts have always been updated (with XP, W2k) for me. _________________ Now on the EN user community forum |

The shortcuts under the "All Programs" do update, but the most-used shortcuts don't always. _________________ Laugh at life or life will laugh at you. |
