On sheet1 I have field 1 as start time, field 2 as end time ,field 3 as person assigned. On sheet 2 I have a field 1 as time. Now I want to compare the time 1 in sheet 2 field1 whether they it belongs between the start time and the end time AND show the person assigned in sheet 2 field 2. e.g. sheet2.a1= 1:00pm, sheet1.a1=12:01pm, sheet1.b1=3:00pm, sheet1.c1="john" I need sheet2.b2 to show "john" since his schedule fits within the start time (sheet1.a1) and end time (sheet.b1). Would appreciate the help.

What is in sheet1.a2, b2, c2, and so on down the sheet? More times and people?

You may be able to use a VLOOKUP( ) of the time to see if it is between 2 adjacent values down a column, but without knowing more about your data, it's a bit tricky....

Try: =VLOOKUP(sheet2.a1;sheet1.a1:c3;3) (not tested, so cell references may be wrong format) Tell us how you get on, what error code you get, etc.
