|
|
Hi, I'm a novice Base user, and have OOo 2.4 installed on a Windows XP system with SP2, 1 GB ram and 20 GB spare on the hard disk.
When I open Base and try to edit a new database (e.g. "create form in design view..." or "Use wizard to create form", or click on Database Tables), I get a popup message that says something like:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library
Program C:\program files\openoffice.org2.4\program\soffice.BIN
The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info"
I have reinstalled OOo 2.4 and rebooted. The problem persists. I downloaded the Visual C++ runtime from Microsoft and installed that (the 2008 version) and the problem is the same.
What am I missing? This is my first attempt to create a database in OOo.
TIA for any helpful suggestions.
Regards,
Paul |

Hi, I just tried version 2.3 and that works okay. I then reinstalled version 2.4 and have the same problem with the C++ runtime library. Reinstalled 2.3 again and it's working again, so the problem is limited to OOo 2.4.
Thanks again |
