| When i password-protect a sheet, the protection only lasts until the document is closed. After reopening it, the checkmark near the "protect sheet" option can be removed without being prompted for a password. Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug (MAJOR bug) ? |

The protection seems to work for me with OOo 2.3.1 and XP
What OS and what version of OOo are you using?
Are you saving the file as an ods ?

Hi,
Are you saving the spreadsheet as a .XLS? if so, the password protection wont hold, you need to save it as a .ODS.
This is down to the different scripting that MS Office and OO.org use.
