I am wanting to convert over to OO from WordPerfect, but I cannot figure out how to do the equivalent of merging data files (.dat) into a formatted form (.frm) file like I can do in WordPerfect. The .dat file equivalent might be the same as a spreadsheet, with each row being a record, and each column being information that is placed in various locations in the destination form, so that for each record merged into the form, there are multiple destinations for the information you have in each of the columns. Any ideas on how to set this up in OO?

Get the Writer guide from http://documentation.openoffice.org You can use almost any type of tabular data from text tables to database server.
