Hi,
all paragraphs in my document start with a space, which I want removed.
I thought I could search for "\n " (regular expressions selected), and replace it with "\n", but this doesn't work. Writer doesn't find "\n ", nor "\n[ ]", though it does find "\n", and I can see the space on the next line.
It does work when I select the linefeed+space in my document and click "replace", but only for the selected instance, not with "replace all". Which is pretty useless, because it's easier to just go to the space and delete it. Except that it's a 370 page document Sad

Any suggestions?
TIA
Steven

You should read the help on regular expressions that comes with the software. You cannot replace across paragraphs. You can find the first character of a paragraph though: "^ " will find the opening space.

If this solves your problem, please edit the first post of this thread (Edit button) and add [Solved] to the subject line.

Thanks Floris,
I guess I was too much focussed on the "\n" thing, that I missed the "^". Confused
