Hi, I'm a newbie to Macs and also to open office. I am trying to put a movie object into a slide and get it to play full screen when in presentation mode. I cant work out how to do it, i'v tried searching help files to no avail, i'm used to powerpoint which is quite simple to resize media objects. I'm stumped as to how i can do it in impress! Could any of you guys kindly point me in the error of my ways and tell me where i'm going wrong? I know its gotta be simple, but i'm thinking its that simple i havent even considered the possibility!

Many thanks in advance

Neil

Hi,
I can only answer for OO-Impress under linux(ubuntu) for now.
Using the original OO from the openoffice.org pages I couldn't find any way to resize a movie. I can easily resize the black field assigned to the movie, but during presentation it just plays in the original resolution within the scalable black background.
In the openoffice version that comes with ubuntu however, the movie is played covering the whole scalable movie window.
The ubuntu team introduces some subtle changes into openoffice before compiling and putting it into the repositories. Sometimes they cause trouble (often prompting the reflex to recommend the original openoffice version in this forum) but sometimes -as in this case and often in the case regarding media- the distributors changes are an improvement. (Videos also seem to play more smoothly with the ubuntu-version especially on slow computers.)

So since I dont know which OS you are using I can't know if my comment is of any use to you. I hope it helps.

regards
