The basic problem in Impress Outline View is that outline texts inherit all properties (font type, size, etc) from Slide View. This causes annoying visual effects like too big titles and weird line-feeds (the right half of the window is always blank) in Outline View.
Now I'd like to remind Impress developers what Outline is meant to be. It should give you a bird-eye's view of every essential element, free from cosmetic/design details. I strongly suggest the following in the Outline View:
(1) Outline texts should be shown as plain text (fixed font and size; no cosmetics) that is derived from the texts in the actual Slide View, by stripping off most properties. Line feeds just behave normally, filling the Outline window.
(2) Presently, inserted/pasted materials (except for outline) in each slide are invisible (not listed) in Outline View. This causes a lot of confusion and is error-prone. I strongly suggest that EVERY material in each slide should be visible, listed together with outline texts in Outline View, like this:
Slide 1 Title
* This is it
* This is good
<Image pasted>
<Image inserted: C:\myfigs\fig1.jpg>
<Equation>
Slide 2 Title
...
These will give us more comfort when we are dealing with Outline. It is the way it used to be in the splendid old presentation program ASAP WordPower.
