Hi,

I am trying to put a user inputted date into a query such that when the query is run the user is prompted to input a date. i.e. Find all new entries in a Membership database that were entered on a certain date. I have a field named 'Date Record Created' but I do no know what the correct criterion/syntax is to make this work.

All help appreciated.

Many thanks

taffcarr:

Welcome to the the world of OpenOffice Base.

You want to create, what is called a Parameter Query.

For an example of this . . . including a 'graphic', using your exact date example, please see the following link.

http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=53530

In the above . . . the Query on the Criterion line starts with a colon ( : ) . . . and . . . the 'words' the user is prompted with follows. It must begin with a letter ( a to z . . . or . . . A to Z ) . . . and . . . be ONE word ( no spaces ). Therefore, I like to include an underscore ( _ ) to make the prompt easier for the user to read.

For another example . . . where a DATE RANGE ( between two dates ) is shown . . . see the following:

I hope this helps, please be sure to let me / us know.
