Hi
Novell's OOo is based on an earlier version (2.0) and has VBA support in Calc. So it's a trade off between a less stable version of OOo against the additional functionality.

They are not that far behind. That would be three years!

Also see "OpenOffice.org editions" and look for ooo-build. Novell OpenOffice.org uses ooo-build, and Novell is a major contributor to ooo-build. _________________ <signature>

| Is Novell's Openoffice really based off of 2.0? I downloaded Novell's version because of the improvements, and I noticed they have a 2.4 version. |

OK - I've just put openSUSE 11 on a laptop and you're quite correct - version 2.4 is now available

I am using Novell Open Office 2.3. I export most of my files into pdf format and set the security settings that it would require a password to allow editing. But when we tried to open it in another computer with an adobe acrobat writer, we had the pdf edited without being asked the password.
This is a document control issue for me. How do I ensure that my pdf files would be secured from anyone unauthorized to edit my files? |
