How can I create indents and tabs such as in the picture?
I would like to type the numbers or whatever manually at the left, not use some automatic bullets.
In case my problem doesn't show above:

I hate automatic bullets with a passion, and much prefer to be in total control, even if it does mean a little effort. I couldn't see how to turn that option off permanently, and eagerly await the explanation.
That said, you can easily adjust paragraph indents and margins from the Ruler.

Set up a style with with a hanging indent and a tab. Use the alignment tab to get the hanging indent. _________________ jrkrideau

FWIW, OOo has a Hanging Indent paragraph style built-in but the get close to what you show you need to go to the Stylist and Modify it so, on the Indents & Spacing tab, the Before Text and First Line values are the same positive and negative numbers.
Then type:
9.TAB and text
10.TAB and text – in this case the “body” of the 9 & 10 paragraph will align with each other.
To get exactly what you show you will need two such hanging indent styles. Once you have them set up remove all text from your document and save as a template for the next job. |
