Hello all,
I have done a search and can't find quite what I'm after, so I'll ask here.
I have a large number of spreadsheets that have key data in the same cells in each sheet
e.g.
Sheet1:B3 Sheet1:B4 Sheet1:G42
or
Sheet1:B3 Sheet1:G32 Sheet2:F42 Sheet2:F45
Some of these values are in date form, some are in currency form
I want to be able to import all these key data into another sheet to consolidate this information.
Is there a quick & easy way to import these data fields?
I'm using OOo 2.4 on Ubuntu Hardy.
I have no experience of writing macros at all, but am willing to try.
Hope this isn't a daft question.
Any more information required? A few sample sheets? I will be happy to provide all I can.

I don't understand what the source data layout is or what you want the target data layout to be, but if they're all consecutive cells and you want the summary sheet to have the same layout, can you simply type = then select Sheet1 and select the cell, then Enter, then copy that cell and paste it in the appropriate layout. Then do the same for the other sheets.
Or copy the whole range of source data from one sheet, select the target sheet, then Paste Special, and tick the Link box, OK. Then do the same for the other sheets.
If you've got many sheets, then it's a bit tedious, I admit. There is a workaround, but if the above suits, I won't bother explaining.

Hmm, doesn't look like I've explained this terribly well...
I'll have a think about it, and possibly provide a drawing or something that'll give a better idea of what I'm after.
