When there are multiple columns of information and I click sort in excel it offers me the option if I would like to expand the sort to include the other columns. How do I expand the sort in open office to get the same result.

Example
If I were to select these three columns and click sort.

1.2 2.3 3.1
1.1 2.4 3.2
1.4 2.1 3.3
1.3 2.2 3.4
1.5 2.5 3.5

Results

1.1 2.1 3.1
1.2 2.2 3.2
1.3 2.3 3.3
1.4 2.4 3.4
1.5 2.5 3.5

Desired Results

1.1 2.4 3.2
1.2 2.3 3.1
1.3 2.2 3.4
1.4 2.1 3.3
1.5 2.5 3.5

Highlight the whole range, then use Data, Sort, instead of the A-Z buttons.

I don't know if there is any automatic detection of adjacent data.

Data sort will pick up the entire range if just one cell in the range is clicked.

It's possible to sort by any column with expand. But to do that it's 3 more steps than Excel.

Using OpenOffice 2.4 on Ubuntu:
1. Go to menu EDIT > SELECT ALL
2. Go to menu DATA > SORT
3. Under SORT BY select the column you want to sort by
4. Click on OK button
