I'm experimenting with open-source software nowadays.
Anyways, I would just like to inquire about the word processors in particular

Is OpenOffice writer better than MS Word?

are there any compatibility issues when opening the documents?
Can OpenOffice open any type of .doc file?
Will MS WORD have any problem opening a document created in OPEN OFFICE writer?
