I am trying to create a document with a date that changes every other page. I have two different page formats, one for left and one for right.
For example, I would like pg. 1 & 2's footers to read "January 1st, 2009", and pg. 3 &4's footers to read "January 2nd, 2009", and so on.
I have been trying to use fields and have been doing all kinds of stuff, but I am not used to this program yet so it is difficult for me. I am using OOo Writer 2.2.
If I can't really do this, I would just like to make the footer different on every other page, and I hope that doesn't mean I need 365 different page formats.
Thanks. |

Different footer content require different page styles.
My approach would be (not writing a macro):
* use Calc to get the dates in desired format (insert first date, format, copy down),
* register as data source (New>Database>connect to existing>Calc),
* then use the mail merge facility to place the field (column) in Writer document (directly inserted/positioned, or within a place text frame), append by a "next record" command field, and a page break.
* run the mail merge should give you a page for each date.
Does this sound OK for you? _________________ Cheers
