|
|
Using OO 1.1.4 with Linux Slackware 10.1.
If I follow "Printing address labels" in the help file I can print labels from my dbf database. However, when fields are empty blank lines are "printed" on the label.
How can I suppress this and print the labels with no blank lines Please ?

Neither of the above answers deal with Labels which need special handling before you can use the Hidden Paragraph function that they do address. I try to spell this out here:

|
|
"How to eliminate the blank address lines?"
The FAQ assumes that each line ends with a paragraph marker. I'm using OO V3 and when I used the OOWriter envelop menu option and inserted database fields, each line was terminated with a return character. The result of the FAQ (as shown below) causes the entire label not to print.
<First_Name> <Last_Name> return
<Address1> return
Hidden Paragraph<Addres2> return
...
I'd rather leave the text as OOWriter created it. I'm still trying to find a solution. This is the first time I've used OO for mail merge. A few hiccups, but it does a nice job.
Thank you. |

| In my opinion, it's better to create a blank label sheet and then insert the Database fields to the document instead of inserting the fields in the label wizard. This eliminates the problem of the wizard's use of line breaks. |

| If Synchronize is on then it's easy to delete the line breaks and tap Enter to replace them with paragraph breaks. Just do so in the upper left labels and click the Synchronize button. |
