Import data from html and Java Tables

Hello, I'm used to the "import data from URL" option in Excel but it allows to update just every minute. I've found in Openoffice Calc "Insert>Link with external data" option, but I have some problems with format.

I use it to import Stock quotes and some of them are detected as Date and not as Numbers (ex: 71.08 is detected as 07/01/0. It seems totally random which values are detected as Dates and which not. Is there any way to import just the data and keep the Format in every update?

I also would like to know if there is a way to import data from just a cell or a group of cells from a URL Table and if is it possible to import images or data from tables in Java Web applications.
