What's the proper upgrade procedure on a multi-user install? I currently am using OO 1.0.0 on Windows XP. I am currently dowloading 1.0.2 Do I need to uninstall and reinstall? Or can I just install on top of the existing install? And if I go on top of the existing install, do I need to use the /net option again? If so, do the other users on this system also need to run setup again?
Any guidance is greatly appreciated! |

I haven't actually tried what you're about to do, but assuming the structure of files hasn't changed dramatically in this point release, you should definitely install the new version in the same manner you did the old one, e.g. use the /net option and reinstall for each individual user. There's been talk of releasing a "service pack" type upgrade but haven't seen anything yet.
If you're really paranoid, uninstall the old version first including purging the OOo directory from your hard drive. That will clear out any older libraries in case the new installer gets confused. Best bet is to read the release notes prior to upgrade. |
