|
|
I tried to insert mathematical formulas in a text document using Insert/Object/Formula, using 001.1.1 but everytime they come out as a block of object, and when exported to pdf it comes out as the raw formula/ code (eg. <dy> over <dx>)
Any suggestion would be much appreciated |

| What exactly do you mean with "a block of objects"? What is your OS, and also, you preferably should also describe step by step how you get your issue so we can test it also. At first sight, I cannot reproduce your issue on OOo 1.1.2 under Win2000. |

I want to type dy/dx using th usual math notation, so I did Insert/Object/Formula/ then it gave me the split window. On the bottom window I did a right clicl and it gave me a selection of math notation I can use, I choose Unary'binary relations/ a over b. It then give me this in the bottom window: <?> over <dx>
I assum all I need to do is put in dy and dx in the appropriate place there ... but in the document, it would not print the notation dy/dx that I want but it would just show up as a whit block where this inserted object is supposed to be. Exported as a pdf file gives me <dy> over <dx>
I use Redhat Fedora 2 (core) for OS. |

Try without < >:
or
the code <?> only has sence in this form, if you change the ?, the signs < and > are interpreted as binary relations |
