Hello all,
I have been searching for a way to have a spreadsheet as a GUI element
in a Java application.
I would like to have a spreadsheet placed on a Java Frame/form window
and use it as a FrontEnd to a Java Desktop Database application.

While searching I have come across a few links, see below:

*****************************************************************************************
Here is a fully working example of programming Calc from Java.

http://www.obba.info/

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OpenOffice_NetBeans_Integration

************************************************************************************************

I would like to have just calc (like only the JAR file(s)), without user
having to install the OpenOffice suite.
IS there such a thing as just a Java spreadsheet library that one can use,
use it to make GUI interface and possibly also as a plugin to NetBeans
where one can use Netbeans GUI-Builder.

There is also a project open source from GNumeric spreadsheet called JWorkbook:

http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric/
http://www.jfree.org/jworkbook/

But there does not seem to be much activity on their forum.

So I hope someone can help.

Sincerely,

Palmer
