Writer won't save my documents

I am using Windows XP in a Pentium III 1Ghz machine with 256 of RAM and 40 giga of free space in my hard drive and I have all the recent Windows update. So hardware problems.

I downloaded and installed Open office 103 and installed it with out a problem. so I type not a document and try to save ( the usuall cont-s go through File save as, etc) . I get no respond from the program no dialog box, no error massege try to quit the program and the thing tells me to save my document. but the Save don't work.

Need help but keep it simple I am just a enduser, no techno yada yada, okay in English, and yes already did a reinstall.

Did you install as a user or administrtor?

I installed as a user.

you need an installation first as administrator.
