I am running linux and when I try and open Word documents in OO, OO terminates itself.
Is this a common problem or does anybody have a solution?
Thanks |

| I forgot to mention, it is only if I try and open really large Word docs, not all documents. |

| Why does Open Office hang up on a large MS Woord document? Is there a way around this problem? |

| I use to have the same problem when I was running OOo 1.0.1, but since I upgraded to OOo 1.0.2 the problem seems to have been solved. |

I have been with OOo and SO6 right from the first beta stage.
There tended to be problems with large Word Documents right up to OOo1.0.1. I never got on with 1.0.2 as it messed up a lot of my OOo1.0.1 formatted docs.
By far the best version for MS Word docs (all docs in fact) is the OOo1.1 beta. Don't be put off by the Word Beta - it's remarkably stable and besides if you're nervous you can use autosave.
I suspect your problem may disappear.
