|
|
Every time I try to use Shift+F4 to toggle references in a formula, all that happens is that a new sheet opens.
I've looked in Tools, customise, keyboard & Shift +F4 is listed as "Relative/Absolute References" so now I'm feeling lost any help please? (I find the customize keyboard feature particularly impenetrable) _________________ JohnL |

If you're on an Apple laptop, you probably need to hold the Fn key down too. I don't have the mac at hand, so I can't test it right now, but there may also be some mixup with shift, option (alt) and command keys. Try out different combinations and see if you have any luck.
Edit: Just tried, and Fn+Shift+F4 works on my MacBook.

Another thought: The hotkey can only modify one reference at a time. If the selected cell has more than one cell/range reference, you must be in edit mode for it to work (press function key F2 to get there) and the text cursor must be at/within the reference you want to alter. |
