|
|
When I open a folder in vista and right click, go to new, go to new OpenDocument text, and create the new file for some reason it doesn't load the default template. Spell check doesn't work, the margins are not default and the page display isn't default. If I open up writer and make a new document that way everything is fine! Anyone have an idea as to why this is?
The right click new is a great feature but useless if it creates a document that is bugged. |

| Seems that when create a document with the right click short cut it creates a German document. I have to set the language to english and set my margins manually. But I don't have to do this if I create a new document when the program is already open! Weird! |

| Yes that's the exact problem I am having! Why does oo have this bug? Not to mention I can't find anything to fix the problem because I have 64 bit vista! |

Ok here is how I fixed it.
Open up regedit.
Navigate to this key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.odt\opendocument.WriterDocument.1\ShellNew
Change this entry:
FileName = set it to whatever OOO file you want. Full location.
Then the right click with use the updated template you choose. Honestly this is really dumb that I have to go and do this when I change a default template. |
