Personally I find it easier to both visualize and calculate where things are (or are going to be) using a numeric co-ordinate spreadsheet--numbered rows AND numbered columns. Is there any way to bring this about?

I know there's a spreadsheet that does this on the web but I want a spreadsheet that's widely used.

I've got my fingers crossed.

http://go-oo.org which is an experimental compilation of OOo.
A better spreadsheet for math and statistic with excellent support of the old xls file format, but not that many extra features: http://gnumeric.org
