After using any openoffice.org component and then browsing through the menus the system completely crashes and I have to hard reset. I tried using the RPMs that came with Redhat 9, the 1.0.3 binaries and with both I've had the same luck. I'm going to try the 1.1 beta binaries and see what happens. If anyone has had a similar problem with OOo crashing when swtiching thru menus or such let me know what you did to fix it.

I narrowed the problem down to certain instances of text redraws and almost always in file dialogs. It turned out to be the "RenderAccel" option in the Nvidia Driver which is kind of nice in X, but has nasty effects in OOo. I did a reinstall of RedHat 9 today and tried out OOo and it worked. Kept trying it out as I changed things and BOOM, that was when it broke. Maybe I'll notify Nvidia about the issue for other users having other related problems.
