Hi
Recent convert to Mac (at home, MBP ) and trying to use Calc 3.1.1, I live on Excel though at work, in Accounts, so no scientific stuff, small user of Macros and VB. I don't want to load MS**t on my MBP either!!
I'm encountering a number of issues but will try and deal with them by checking in the forums, good work guys too! Because Calc looks so much like Excel, you assume (incorrectly) it will work like Excel......WRONG!!
But 2 I cannot sort out!!
I don't appear to have Options on my Tools menu, but it's referred to there in the forums. How do I get to see it?
Autofilter: Is there a succinct guide somewhere as to how to use Autofilter in Calc? If I filter on a field value in a column, I get multiple field results (as if it's not selecting the whole database). So if I only want to see RED results, I get GREEN/YELLOW etc as well!!
Thanks for any help! _________________ Scrap your PC, get a Mac! Er maybe not for Excel?? |

Thanks sliderule, I've found it. I was looking for a menu item called "Options", but see that it's under "Preferences" and is more obvious when you expand some of the headings!

Think I've solved the Autofilter problem, but still don't know if there's a succinct guide out there!
When using Standard Filter, check which field is being filtered on. Unlike Excel, the active cell does not have to be in the column you wish to filter on. In the Standard Filter you select which field to filter on. A useful improvement, and it defaults to the current column of the active cell!! _________________ Scrap your PC, get a Mac!
