What OS and version of OOo are you using?
fnF3 seems to work okay for me. _________________ jrkrideau

| Do Ctrl+F3, look under Standard and see if Formula Numbering is there. If so, can you Insert it from there? |

Also when you do Ctrl+F3 does it show FN as the shortcut. If so, try DTF3 which should give you some dummy text.
If that doesn't work then you may have changed the F3 shortcut key. Check Tools > Customize > Keyboard tab. F3 should be Run AutoText Entry. |

Thank you for your help ! I found out.
The language is french : so the command is nfF3 !
By the way, installation in french leads to have accentuated greek letters like %bêta : I can deal with that, but for capital greek letters, I cannot typewrite the %OM2GA, and I must use the mouse, because OOo requires the capital é.
Thank tou,
PA. |

I've found this feature very helpful. But there is one thing I can't make it work for me: to flip the side of the numbering when the autotext table is on a "left-side" page, the way it works for page numbering. Is it possible at all?
I can "simulate" it using two separate autotexts for "left-side" and "right-side" pages, but then it won't be automatic: if I add some text before the formula and it go to the next page, it will have the numbering on the wrong side
Maybe instead of using a table, there is some other way to attach a number to the OUTER corner of a paragraph and stay there? _________________ SasQ |

It never is indeed. The autotext entry does nothing else than automatically insert some items, a table, a formula object and a "number range" field, which you otherwise could type in manually.
I would not know of any automated way to place a formula number left or right according to the page. It does not seem to be a widely used convention, neither. _________________ --
