|
|
I had Version 3.0 installed. I removed it with Windows. I then tried to install a new version.
Files from the old version that haven't been fully removed appear to create a problem.
I get a 1714 Error message and it tells me there is a problem with the path to the old version 3.0 .msi file. How can I fix this? |

| Re-install V3.0 and then install V3.1 |

Can you tell me how to get the .exe file for version 3.0.
If I had it I would have tried to reinstall it. I'm not sure how to get. |

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the smaller .exe.
I was wondering what's in the ....-WJRE version that's not in the above version. |

| WJRE includes the Java runtime environment. If you already have java you don't need it. |

Thanks for the info on JRE. I do have Java already.
I need to free up some memory before I reinstall 3.0.
I'll post my findings after I reinstall. |

I tried to install the 3.0 version I downloaded from the aechive.
I got a message that there was a more recent version of the file and I was told
to uninstall it first. I can't do this with Windows add and remove programs.
When I try to access the archive to see if I can obtain a newer version of 3.0,
I am now denied access. Do you have any thoughts on what I can do to correct
this situation? |

I inspected my downloaded files. I noticed I still had a version 3.0.1 source file
I thought that might be the more recent version that was previously installed.
I ran the setup file without a problem. When I was given the option to remove I selected
it. The removal ran OK. I then was able to install and run version 3.2 without a hitch.
I noticed in some of the popup windows the .1 ending is truncated. This hides the
fact that you may have a slightly more up to date version of the file if you fail to
notice it. |
