I have a strange problem with connecting to SQLserver from OOBase - I have tried both ODBC and JDBC (this is on 64 bit linux). I can connect very easily, using either FreeTDS ODBC or jTDS JDBC. I get the list of tables, but when I right-click on one of them and select 'Open', it seems to hang. It may be that it just takes a long time, of course, I have only waited for <1 hour.

However, when I access the same database through the isql tools (comes with unixODBC), I can query tables etc with a very reasonable response time. I have tried connecting with the mergeant tool as well - this takes long too, because it is analysing a presumably huge number of tables and views. Is this what happens in Base?

I don't know. Any way you can test your case with a smaller table or dataset? Or with 32-bit ODBC on 32-bit Linux?
