I use RTF as my default format for documents in Open Office Writer, since it is only about half as bloated as DOC, and my students can always read it. I find it extremely annoying that, when I tell Writer to open an RTF file, it **always** asks whether I want to run or display it. In the file’s properties box, sometimes I can change the “treat as executable” box, but most of the time I can’t. Isn’t there some way to tell writer that I **always** want to display the file?
