using XP on 2 different machines, sp2,
does the same thing on quad-core with 512 graphics card, as well as single core laptop with onboard graphics
did same thing in previous release as well as the current which I just d/l'ed to see if it would remedy the problem. not sure about releases prior as do not typically have any need to protect cells, except this one spreadsheet. |

I did a quick and dirty try and didn't detect any colour changes when I used a yellow and a grey but they may not have been the correct colours.
Could you post an example somewhere that others could get a look at it? _________________ jrkrideau

first screencap is not sheet protected
second is sheet protected
sheet protected changes cell background colors
wandering around google i found a command to use ctrl f8 to hilight cells with numeric values...just happened to try it and found it fixes the mess in the second image however, it does then you lose the hilighting of numeric cells
This is with sheet protected and after hitting ctrl+f8
to me this appears to be a bug, it seems the user of a protected sheet should be able to see numeric values with different font colors as applicable
